It's a lazy dawn today.  Thick and slow like blue velvet, scattered with streetlight spangles and with an undertone of rhinestone stars.  Covered with a wash of rained-on pavement.

"A better world has gotta start somewhere.  Why not with you and me?"

I was thinking I should make a New Year's resolution, albeit a fairly belated one.  But the way I see it, a resolution made at some point during the new year is every bit as good as one made on New Year's Day.  And it's one not just for this year, but for the rest of my life.

So this year, I resolve to make a difference.  I don't know what for, or who for, or anything else about it, just that I want to make a difference.  "Be the change you want to see in the world."

Feeling like I never lost control of myself, I just forgot for a while that I had it.  Like finding a $10 bill in last year's winter jacket.
